| UPDATED: New Snipe Tool 2.0 |
|
Over the next few days, we will be releasing version two (2.0) of our Snipe Tool. Because of recent changes and announcements by eBay, we needed to make a few changes to ensure that we will still be able to provide this valuable tool to our customers. Once you have installed the new Snipe Tool, as a user, you will see no differences in its operation.
NOTE: Once the new version has been released, you will no longer be able to use previous versions. If you attempt to use and old version of the Snipe Tool, you will be prompted to login to our site and add the new version to your browser's favorites / bookmarks.
WHAT IS THE SNIPE TOOL? The Snipe Tool will allow you to place a bid directly from an auction's item page. Once you have it installed, you simply click on the "Snipe Tool!" button on your link bar and your item will be added to your account.
UPDATE 07-20-2005 14:20 CT: As of around 1:30 PM CT today we released our Snipe Tool 2.0. This new version will allow users to continue to take advantage of this great utility and also will make it easier for us to add additional features in the future.
If you installed a version of the Snipe Tool before 1:30 PM CT today, you will need to follow the directions below:
- Locate the Snipe Tool on your Links Bar or in your Favorites
- Right Click on the current Snipe Tool and click "Delete"
- Click on the Snipe Tool link under the Member Menu
- Follow the directions on the Snipe Tool page
NOTE: If you are having problems with the new Snipe Tool, you may still manually enter an auction by inputting the item number at the bottom of the Auctions page.
We are sorry for any problems this change might have caused. If you have any further questions, please contact our Support Team. |

| AuctionStealer.com - Privacy Policy (TRUSTe) and Terms of Use Changes |
|
Over the past month we (AuctionStealer.com) have been working with TRUSTe to more clearly state how we collect, store, and use your personal information. Due to some of their recommendations, it was necessary for us to modify our Terms of Use as well. This afternoon, we updated our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Below is a quick list of the changes made to both documents:
Privacy Policy
- Added Table of Contents
- Added a General Overview section to describe our Privacy Policies intentions
- Added more details about how we collect information
- Added more details about how we use information that we collect
- Added the Access, Modify or Delete Your Personal Information Section to inform users how to view / update / delete information
- Added the Privacy Disputes section to let users know how to get more info concerning our Privacy Statement
- Added the Contact Information for our Privacy Officer
Terms of Use
- Added Table of Contents
- Removed the Member Account, Password, and Security section because it is now included in our Privacy Statement
- Removed the Links to Third Party Websites section because it is now included in our Privacy Statement under the Information Usage section
- Removed the Privacy and Protection of Personal Information section because everything is now included in our Privacy Policy
- Removed the Use of Cookies section because it is now included in our Privacy Statement under the Information We Collect section
- Added the Privacy and Security section to include our Privacy Statement into our Terms of Use
While it looks like we made a lot of changes, no policies have been altered – just enhanced. Both of these documents have just been updated to more clearly describe how AuctionStealer.com does business.

| ScanAlert Partnership (HACKER SAFE) |
|
As many of you have noticed, at the bottom of every page on our website there is a HACKER SAFE certification. This certification should give all our current and new users the confidence they need when providing us with personal data. We are always looking for ways to improve site performance and security -- lucky for us the ScanAlert service was a perfect match.
Late yesterday afternoon AuctionStealer.com, Inc. and ScanAlert, Inc. finalized setup and implementation of our new security monitoring. While we in no way believed that there were any problems, we brought on ScanAlert to be a third-party monitoring service to give all our users more peace of mind.
We passed all of ScanAlert's initial security scans with flying colors and as mentioned early, were awarded their HACKER SAFE certification.
About ScanAlert, Inc. ScanAlert makes Web sites secure from hackers and certifies it to their customers with a HACKER SAFE certification mark. HACKER SAFE certification protects millions of shoppers every day at thousands of retail ecommerce Web sites. Appearance of the certification mark indicates that these sites are compliant with the highest federal Web site security standards, as well as Visa's Cardholder Information Security, MasterCard's Site Data Protection and American Express' data security programs. |
